A new champion was crowned in this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament after Spain defeated Argentina in the World Cup Final, and the United States was eliminated in a Skull & Bones ritual connected to the Bush family. Bonnie Tyler passed away unexpectedly, and her death was clearly connected to one of her top hits. U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham also died suddenly after a return trip to Ukraine, sparking conspiracy theories that foul play may have been involved. Sam Neill died the same day as the MLB Home Run Derby, which could potentially have World Series implications. Australian golfer Ryan Fox won the British Open in a thrilling finish on the final hole, and LeBron James signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in a surprise move that may bring the city of Philadelphia another championship in the very near future. It was a month filled with love stories, sports drama, and sudden deaths.

Nailing down futures predictions is difficult, and we still have the MLB trade deadline coming up, which could shift the betting odds drastically on some contenders, especially if Tarik Skubal is traded. One thing seems certain, with three months of baseball left to be played and the start of the football season looming, we haven’t seen the last of the comeback script for 2026.

I rarely ever talk about my personal life on my blog, but I experienced an interesting synchronicity this month that I feel is worth sharing. A few years ago, I wrote a blog post exploring the possibility of a megatsunami hitting the east coast of the United States as a result of a volcano collapse on La Palma in the Canary Islands. This is a well-known doomsday scenario, and one that I still believe will happen in our lifetime. However, I deleted the post many months ago because my original timeline for this to occur was in July 2026, and I no longer believed that was accurate. I also mentioned in that post that if it were to happen in July 2026 that it would likely be connected to Spain winning the FIFA World Cup since the Canary Islands are an archipelago of Spain. Ironically enough, Spain indeed won the World Cup, and I wound up having a flood in my house due to a main water line break. It wasn’t exactly the tsunami I predicted, but it nevertheless wrecked havoc on my home and caused damages that will likely cost tens of thousands of dollars when all the reparations are complete. I should also mention that July made 6 years since the release of my book, “The Man Who Broke Free.” As always, I appreciate everyone who follows my blog and continues to support me all these years later. Although this is a challenging time for me and my family, and our living situation will be temporarily disrupted as we work to remove the water and mold from our home, I anticipate I will still be able to follow the news and continue with my monthly blog posts.
